No more summonses, straight to court for unlicensed drivers.

No more summonses but straight to the court for those who drive without licences. This was the proposal made today by Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar, who said police would be bringing the suggestion to the government for implementation. He said those who drive without licences should not be issued a summons, but instead face the full force of the law in court. “We have found that many cases of deaths and serious injuries in road accidents nationwide were caused by unlicensed drivers and riders,” he said. Khalid said police would also propose that those who allow their vehicles to be driven by unlicensed drivers would also face immediate court action. This, he said, included parents who allow their children to do so.
